I had a dream today...
Which confused the hell out of me.
I had a dream that I was involved in a big samurai-style war, but it was more of a historical re-enactment. Kids from high school and some of my Freshman year dormies were there. We were divided into teams of red and blue, and were using plastic swords (with light-sabers!). A lot of people seemed to be dressed like Sonic the Hedgehog.
Anyway, I'm on the Red team, and we seem to be winning. A bunch of our red "mages" (lack of a better term?) have the blue guys all trapped in these blue spheres. Suddenly, this one friend of mine, Miles, who I know from a million years ago, and who is on the Blue Team, runs down off of a mountain to go help his teammates. Everyone starts cheering for him, even us Red people.
At that point, Fred Savage (Wonder Years) runs up to me and demands my sword. "I can still stop him," he says. Now, I've seen Fred play major assholes, both on Boy Meets World and an episode of Law and Order: SVU, so I don't really trust him.
"I promise, I won't hurt him," he says. I shake my head.
"Sorry, Fred. I guess no one ever told you that he", gesturing over to Fred's much more talented brother, Ben Savage (Boy Meets World) "was the better actor."
Fred goes off and sulks, and I watch, happy, as Miles liberates his team and wins whatever the hell is going on. It's strange, I have just betrayed my team and lost the challenge/war/dealy, but I really don't seem concerned. Also, there's an announcer and some weird little info-graphics that keep popping up into my field of vision, like on the Amazing Race or Survivor.
Afterwards, I am sitting as a prisoner with the rest of my teammates. We're captured, but we don't seem to really care. I pretend to commit seppuku with the plastic sword and get a few laughs.
End Credits. End of Dream.
Wow. I'd love to try and dissect that. To me it just says that my brain is a giant pop-culture blender. Or that I've been watching way too much TV.
The funny thing is, I haven't seen any of those TV shows in months.
